03 — The ritual

Why cold?

Cold is more than a temperature. It's a daily ritual for recovery, resilience and reset.

Recovery

Faster muscle recovery and less post-training soreness.

Resilience

Train your response to discomfort. Build consistency. Build resilience.

Reset

A cold morning ritual designed to sharpen your focus and start the day differently.

04 — Zero build

Big chill. Zero build.

From flat-packed to full plunge in under 5 minutes.

01

Inflate

2 minutes with the included hand pump. Or 30 seconds with an electric pump. Either way, it's faster than boiling a kettle.

02

Fill & freeze

Fill with cold water from your garden hose or tap. Add ice for maximum cold. Insulated walls help keep it cold for hours.

03

Plunge

Get in. Start with 2 minutes if you're new. Build gradually. Get out feeling completely different.

05 — The evidence

The science of cold

Why cold exposure has become a powerful recovery ritual.

Mental clarity

Cold exposure can stimulate norepinephrine and create a strong feeling of alertness.

Recovery

Cold immersion is widely used as part of recovery routines, particularly around demanding physical activity.

Metabolic response

Cold exposure activates thermoregulatory processes, including brown adipose tissue activity.

Sleep & reset

Cold exposure can be incorporated into evening routines, with timing and individual response being important.

Cold exposure affects everyone differently. Nothing here is medical advice — if you have a health condition, talk to your GP before starting a cold routine.

“I do a 3-minute plunge every morning before work. My mood, focus, and energy have completely changed. And the fact 10% goes to CALM makes it even better.”
E Emma R. Verified buyer
“Took it to a festival with mates. We were the only campsite with an ice bath. Absolute scenes. It actually held the cold for about 4 hours.”
S Sam J. Verified buyer
“I've wanted to try cold plunging for months but couldn't justify £800 on a permanent tub. This was £129 and I had it set up in my garden in 5 minutes. Life changing.”

Still unsure about something? Email us at hello@chillblimp.com

How cold should the water be?

Most people plunge between 10–15°C. If you're new, start around 15°C and work down gradually as your body adapts. Tap water in the UK is often cold enough in winter — add ice in summer.

How long should I stay in?

Start with 1–2 minutes and build up to 3–5 minutes over a few weeks. Longer isn't better — consistency is what counts.

Is cold plunging safe?

For most healthy adults, yes. Cold exposure affects everyone differently, so start slowly, never plunge alone if you're new, and speak to your GP first if you have a heart condition or other health concern.

How do I keep the water clean?

Keep the lid on between sessions, use our Water Treatment Kit, and change the water every 1–2 weeks depending on use.

How often should I use my ChillBlimp?

Most of our customers plunge 3–7 times per week. Daily use is completely fine once you've built up.

Can I leave the tub outside?

Yes. ChillBlimp tubs are built for UK weather. Use the thermal lid to keep leaves out and the cold in.

How quickly can I set it up?

Under 5 minutes from box to plunge: inflate, fill, get in.

Does ChillBlimp deliver across the UK?

Yes — free UK mainland delivery on all tubs, usually within 2–4 working days.
